      <image:title>About - About</image:title>
<image:caption>I am an independently licensed mental health counselor in New Mexico (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, LPCC). I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling and Art Therapy at Southwestern College in Santa Fe in 2012. From a young age, I felt drawn to supporting others through challenging times. I discovered early on that my gift is helping people feel heard, seen, and validated in their experiences. Even as a child, I was the person strangers would approach on the bus or in a crowd to share their stories. Over time, that natural ability to listen deeply and hold space for others grew into my life’s work as a therapist. Today, I bring both my professional training and my lived experience to create a safe, compassionate space where clients can explore what’s weighing on them, reconnect with themselves, and discover new ways to move forward.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - Process</image:title>
<image:caption>We’ll begin with an intake session where I’ll take time to listen to your story, what you’ve been experiencing, and what feels most important to you right now. Together, we’ll identify your goals for therapy and create a plan that feels realistic, supportive, and tailored to your life and needs.</image:caption>

<image:caption>“Art therapy is the therapeutic use of art making, within a professional relationship, by people who experience illness, trauma or challenges in living, and by people who seek personal development. Through creating art and reflecting on the art products and processes, people can increase awareness of self and others, cope with symptoms, stress and traumatic experiences; enhance cognitive abilities; and enjoy the life-affirming pleasures of making art.”</image:caption>

<image:caption>“Nutritional Psychology is the area of study that examines the relationship between our dietary and nutrient intake patterns, and our mood, behavior, and mental health. Mental health professionals already address the psychological, cognitive, psychosocial, cognitive-interoceptive, and behavioral components of positive mental health. However, our current healthcare model is not considering dietary intake patterns as a contributor to the rise in mental health issues around the globe.”</image:caption>

<image:caption>“Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is a modified form of cognitive therapy that incorporates mindfulness practices such as meditation and breathing exercises. Using these tools, MBCT therapists teach clients how to break away from negative thought patterns that can cause a downward spiral into a depressed state so they will be able to fight off depression before it takes hold.”</image:caption>

<image:caption>“Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a short-term form of psychotherapy directed at present-time issues and based on the idea that the way an individual thinks and feels affects the way he or she behaves. The focus is on problem solving, and the goal is to change clients' thought patterns in order to change their responses to difficult situations. A CBT approach can be applied to a wide range of mental health issues and conditions.”</image:caption>
